Description
ICG is seeking an experienced grantwriter to join our team who will develop proposals for nonprofit clients. The grantwriter will be responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating grant application processes; designing projects in collaboration with nonprofit clients, as applicable; managing the proposal submission process; managing client relationships; conducting grant prospect research; editing; and completing other writing projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
Understand program development processes and be able to facilitate clients in developing programs and processes that will support winning grant applications.
Develop high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, and supporting documents.
Research, collect and synthesize data for each grant application.
Coordinate and follow-up on progress of submitted proposals, as needed.
Conduct prospect research to identify, cultivate, and solicit new grants for clients, as needed.
Develop relationships and collaborate with clients.
Manage and maintain all written work in ICG’s cloud-based server.
Job Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience in research and grant writing.
Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals, with a specific focus on government grant proposals.
Be skilled in writing, precise and compelling narratives.
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong people skills with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficient with Adobe Acrobat DC or Preview (available on MACs).
Additional Experience & Qualifications
Demonstrated experience developing Private-, State-, and Federal-level grant proposals.
Bachelor's or master’s degree preferred.
Experience working with and for nonprofits, NGOs, or other cause-based organizations is highly desired.
Equipment & Software Requirements
You must be able to provide for yourself:
Safe, secure, high-speed internet.
Computer/laptop, either Mac or PC, with 8GB of RAM (preferably 16GB if an option), current antivirus, and modern operating system.
Webcam and mic for virtual meetings (can be built-in).
Phone (mobile, landline, or online phone options).
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Adobe Acrobat DC or Preview (MAC) to compile and edit PDFs.
Compensation
Hourly position with competitive pay.
Job Type
Contract (with the possibility to evolve into a full-time, salaried position); remote, work-from-home.
Days & Hours
Monday through Friday with nights/weekends to meet deadlines required, at times. 20-30 hours per week, depending on client needs and funding due dates.
Reports to
Managing Partner, Managing Director, or Managing Associate, depending on the project.
